The painting depicts the oldest functioning lighthouse in Kamchatka, dating back to the 19th century, standing majestically on top of a hill. Morning fog envelops the lighthouse and the coast, creating an atmosphere of mystery and romance.
Muted pastel tones - blue-grey, brown-green and smoky - convey a sense of silence and peace. Tall grasses sway in the foreground, and behind them the seashore is lost in the haze.
