Vilyuchinsky Volcano. Lake Mikizha

The original pastel study “Vilyuchinsky Volcano. Lake Mikizha” was created from life in autumn 2025 during an art trip to Kamchatka. The artist worked on the spot near the “Blue Lagoon” hotel — a place where the wild nature begins right beyond the fence, with bear trails, cold streams, and untouched tundra landscapes.

In the background rises the majestic Vilyuchinsky Volcano, rendered in cool gray-blue tones. Below lies the tranquil Mikizha Lake, bordered by golden autumn trees. In the foreground stand the famous stone birches of Kamchatka, their almost bare branches surrounded by deep red grasses.

The painting conveys the spirit of northern autumn — solemn, serene, and filled with quiet strength and beauty.
