This original pastel artwork “Rainy Day at Malki Hot Springs. Kamchatka” was created en plein air in 2023 during a painting journey across the remote landscapes of Kamchatka. To reach this unique place — the famous healing Malki thermal springs — the artist had to take a long off-road trip through the wilderness.

The painting depicts a quiet Kamchatka river framed by dense willow thickets and trees. A fine drizzle covers the scene with a soft mist, making the colors gentle and subdued. Wet grass glistens in the light, while in the distance, the mountain ridge fades into the fog.

The color palette is calm and atmospheric: greenish-blue shades flow smoothly into each other, evoking a sense of serenity and peaceful contemplation.
