The original pastel study “Romance of the Sea” (30 × 40 cm) was created in the summer of 2025 from life at the boat station in Yakutsk.

The painting shows large spools with cables and mechanisms in the foreground, while ships are visible in the background. The sunny day fills the composition with warmth, and the yellow-orange palette conveys a feeling of joy, energy, and subtle romanticism.

Soft pastels allowed the artist to capture a velvety texture, smooth color transitions, and the shimmering effect of sunlight. This work conveys the sense of simple happiness, when even everyday details of port life become a source of inspiration.
