30x40 cm ~ Painting, Pastel
The original pastel sketch “Message from the Depths of Centuries” was created in the summer of 2025 during a plein air art residency in Yakutia. The painting depicts a replica of an ancient wooden church from the 18th century, originally built by Cossack pioneers during the exploration of Siberia. Today, this unique architectural monument can be found in the Lensky Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve “Druzhba,” located near the remote village of Sottintsy.
To reach this hardly accessible place, the group of plein air artists had to cross the mighty Siberian River Lena by ferry.
The artwork is filled with light and serenity: a clear blue sky, warm summer sun, and the darkened logs of the centuries-old church weathered by time. The sketch conveys an atmosphere of tranquility, deep history, and the enduring strength of the northern land.
Medium: soft pastel, premium cardboard 360 g/m²
Size: 30 × 40 cm
Year: 2025
Framing: elegant wooden frame with mat board
The painting is not for sale, but posters and art prints on paper or canvas are available on request.
This artwork is a tribute to the cultural heritage of Yakutia and the beauty of traditional Russian wooden architecture, making it a perfect choice for collectors and interior decoration.
